What is a Fellows Program?
A Fellows Program is an intensely practical nine-month journey that prepares you to live faithfully for the rest of your life. Your laboratory will be a part-time professional internship in your field of interest, theological coursework, Biblical study, mentoring and service. This leadership development program will equip you to have a thoughtful impact in the world.
By participating in a Fellows Program, you will discern how your story fits into God’s story. You will start your post-college years with a strong foundation for a cohesive life of faith, a full life that seamlessly weaves together your career, your personal life and your place in God’s story. You’ll begin to answer some of life’s most important questions:
How do you think "Christianly" about work, culture, friendships and experiences?
The Fellows Initiative (TFI) is committed to fostering and encouraging locally run Fellows Programs that prepare tomorrow’s leaders to live faithfully and to be thoughtful agents of God’s goodness, beauty and truth in the Church and the world by exploring an all-encompassing faith, nurturing a heart for the Church, and awakening a hunger to create and engage the culture.
Start Well, Start Now — Join a Fellows Program! In community, you will study and wrestle through these questions and more. Find which program is the best fit for you.
What is The Fellows Initiative?
The Fellows Initiative (TFI) provides support to existing Fellows Programs and helps new programs to begin and flourish. Our goal is to establish excellent Fellows Programs, inspiring young postgraduate students all over the United States to live whole, Christ-centered lives. TFI is committed to fostering and encouraging locally run Fellows Programs that prepare tomorrow’s leaders to live faithfully and to be thoughtful agents of God’s goodness, beauty and truth in the Church and the world by:
Exploring an all-encompassing faith,
Nurturing a heart for the Church, and
Awakening a hunger to engage the culture.
Fellows programs are concerned with cultivating a person who is on a lifelong journey to live faithfully in the Church and in the world. The essence and expression of a particular Fellows Program is much broader and more far reaching than a church-based internship program. Though some Fellows Programs have Fellows who have as their work component a youth ministry or pastoral internship, Fellows Programs are not directly or primarily purposed with providing training for future church staff positions.
Many Fellow Programs include a significant church service component and many Fellows Program graduates feel called to join church staffs or pursue a seminary degree or go “on the mission field.” But, to be clear, the vision for individual Fellows Programs, and for The Fellows Initiative as a whole, is to prepare and equip the next generation of leaders to embrace the Church and engage God’s world in their God-given work as lawyers, doctors, bankers, homemakers, artists, pastors, journalists, engineers, athletes, entrepreneurs, and in all work and vocational expression.
